Compassion in a Troubled World

This past week has been  busy with writing on two different book projects.  The history of the local Methodist church building is coming along nicely and I hope it will be done within tow to three weeks.  My goal is to make the reader feel as though they are walking through the church building and parsonage in 1898.  I want to "preserve" in writing the beauty and graceful design of the original building.  I hope the book will help gain support for the current effort to breathe new life into the 115 year old structure.

The second book, on web design, is also moving forward and I expect to have it done before the Holidays.  Writing these book is always fun and exciting for me.  It is impossible to teach without continually learning something in the process and that is definitely true with these writing projects.  When the new Web Design book comes out, people will have a wonderful new option to web design and creation that will, I hope be as well received as the origilnal book, Web Design:  Using iWeb.

This week's reading has the 12 Steps to a Compassionate Life by Karen Armstrong.  This is one of those books that makes you want to give it as a gift to everyone you know!  Her understanding of philosophy and religion (she is a religious historian by profession) is so complete and extensive that I feel like I can grow from reading her books several time to extract all the information and thought contained in them.  Highly recommended!
